Children from year 1 to year 6 are invited to join the Bottesford Primary School Irish Dancing Club which meets each Wednesday after school from 3:15 until 4:30pm.  The club is run by Mrs Caroline Hunt who runs the Caroline McManus School of Irish Dancing.

If you would like to join our Irish Dancing Club please contact the School Office.

Growing Fruit and Vegetables

The children choose and grow a range of herbs, vegetables, fruit and flowers in raised beds and planters (despite the slugs).
They use hand tools, dig, and weed, sow seed, grow on seedlings, water plants and harvest the crops.

Our Reflective Garden

A new reflective garden was created and some raised planters were donated to create a quiet space around a seat and a sundial. The children planted them up with pansies, pinks and assorted donated plants.

Edible Garden

The focus for last year was on growing a wider range of edibles and making the school environment more attractive. Potatoes were grown in sacks and rainbow carrots were grown in planters. Donated tomato plants were grown in pots and the watering was a challenge. The herb garden grew well and taste tests were interesting.  The beans had mixed success however the raspberries fruited well.  The sunflower and pumpkin competitions were won by the slugs.
