  • Mr Mark North

    Headteacher

I am an experienced educational leader with nearly 30 years in teaching and school leadership. Since April 2024, I have worked for Learnat, and in February 2025, I was proud to take up my role as Headteacher at Bottesford Primary School. Prior to joining Learnat, I served as Headteacher in three contrasting primary schools across Nottinghamshire, gaining a wealth of experience in leading diverse communities and driving school improvement. I believe in a creative approach to education that inspires curiosity and fosters outstanding teaching and learning. Building strong community links and developing positive partnerships with parents are central to my vision, ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential. Outside of school, I enjoy an active lifestyle and have a passion for sport, particularly cricket and golf, and am a Notts County season ticket holder. Family is very important to me; I have two teenage children who keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of preparing young people for life beyond the classroom. My goal is always to make a positive difference—whether through leading a school community, supporting staff development, or helping children discover their potential.

  • Mr James Henderson

    Local Governor

I moved to Bottesford in 2020 and currently have two children at the school. I work full-time for MHR as an E-Learning Content Developer, which primarily involves developing online learning resources. Having worked in similar roles throughout my career, I am passionate about supporting students to achieve the best possible learning experiences across a variety of environments. As Chair of Governors, I work closely with school leaders and fellow governors to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school and its curriculum. • Lisa Smith

    Governor

I am a Lay Minister at St Mary's Church and I have lived in the village for 11 years. I work as a social worker for Nottinghamshire County Council. I have two children who both attended Bottesford CE Primary School - one is at University and one is in Yr10. As a Christian parent I was always impressed by the compassionate pastoral care and concern for the children, and the focus the school has on developing the whole child, in line with its core Christian values. I have a longstanding interest in the nurture of children and young people through education, having been involved with children's ministry in the Church for 20 years. Now that my own children are teenagers, I have more time to commit to the role of Foundation Governor. I see the role as both an opportunity to 'give back' to a school from which we have received much as a family, but also to contribute to what is already an excellent school in the heart of our community. To contact Lisa, please email: lsmith@gov.learnat.uk

  • Owen Ledbetter

    Parent Governor

I moved to Bottesford in 2018 and currently have 2 children at the school. I work for an Independent Healthcare provider as Head of Professional Learning, overseeing learning and development for a national network of Nurses and Allied Health Professions. My remit is to ensure that all our professionals have the required skills, knowledge and behaviours to meet the regulatory requirements of their role, enabling them to deliver the highest standard of clinical care. I qualified as a Physiotherapist 20 years ago and have worked in varying healthcare settings, moving into learning and development over the last 10 years. I am passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential, supporting people through a variety of approaches that encompass learning, mentoring and coaching. As my role as a Governor, I feel I will be able to utilise my skills and knowledge as a clinician, educator, leader and parent to support the staff and students at Bottesford Primary school.

  • Mr Chris Andrews

    Staff Governor

I have been involved in different education settings for the past 19 years – 10 of which have been as a teacher at Bottesford CE Primary School. I am very passionate about my role as a teacher and feel that I can engage children in different ways that allow them to succeed in the classroom and grow as individuals outside of their academic achievements. I have been the schools PE coordinator for several years and am a firm believer that physical education and sport can hugely benefit children in other areas of their schooling. I am committed to providing our pupils with opportunities that allow them to reach their potential and give them a strong foundation for when they leave our school. I hope to further contribute to this provision in my role as governor. To contact Chris, please email him at: candrews@bot.learnat.uk

  • Beck Humphris

    Staff Governor

  • Nick Clark

    Staff Governor

I have lived in the vale of Belvoir for nearly 30 years with my wife Michelle. More recently, I took the decision to step out if the corporate world where I was employed as a Contracts Manager. I needed to take a different path where personal achievement was not measured by profit. I found this at Bottesford, where I am now employed as a Premises Area Manager. Working alongside and supporting the SLT team to ensure a compliant safe and clean environment for the children to flourish in their journey as young students.
